Erika Batton was found beaten and unconscious inside her smoke-filled apartment in Lincoln Center in September. She was later pronounced dead at Ouachita County Medical Center.

Eric Thrower of Camden, who police said was "around 27 years old," was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in the slaying, Camden police Lt. Demoyne Gray said. Thrower was scheduled to make his first appearance in front of a judge Wednesday afternoon.

On Friday, Thrower's sister, Francine Cobb, 29, was arrested in Conway and transported back to Camden in Batton's death.

Cobb made a tearful first appearance in front of Circuit Judge Hamilton Singleton on Monday afternoon, where she opted to remain silent until a lawyer is appointed to her.

Cobb is being held without bail at the Ouachita County jail on a capital-murder charge.

The case remains under investigation, Gray said.
