LR, NLR, PCSSD closed Friday

Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County Special school districts have decided to close on Friday because of continued hazardous road conditions after a winter storm made its way through the state Wednesday and early Thursday.

Pulaski County Special School District announced on Twitter that employees on a 12-month contract should report two hours late.

North Little Rock School District made its announcement on social media, reporting that all campuses and district offices will be closed on Friday.

Little Rock School District spokesman Pamela Smith said the school campuses and offices will be closed on Friday.

Other schools around central Arkansas have already announced closings as well.

Pulaski Academy and the Cabot School District both announced closings via social media.

Conway School District announced on social media that it plans to open at 10 a.m. on Friday and buses will run snow routes, but will make a final decision about holding classes by 5 a.m.

A front that brought rain followed by heavy sleet and snow moved slower than expected into the state on Wednesday.

Snow tapered off before sunrise on Thursday morning, and different parts of the state saw from 6 to 8 inches of sleet and snow accumulation.
