Emergency federal funding awarded to Lake City for sewers

LAKE CITY — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded $355,786 to the Lake City Housing Authority in northeast Arkansas to replace sewer pipes in two housing developments.

HUD said in a news release Friday that the emergency grant will help the city repair ongoing leaks and burst pipes in the sewer system.

The emergency grants are awarded to public housing authorities facing unpredictable or unforeseen emergencies that are a threat to the life, health, or safety of public housing residents.
