Pulaski County man arrested on capital murder charges

The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a Pulaski County man wanted for the February murder of his aunt.

After a warrant on capital murder charges was issued Feb. 20 for Houston Henry, 55, he was arrested at about 2:30 p.m. Friday in Fort Smith.

U.S. Marshals Service investigators began working on the case Tuesday after being contacted by Pulaski County sheriff’s office with information that Henry was in the Fort Smith area, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a news release.

The investigation led authorities to find Henry in the Sparks Regional Medical Center cafeteria.

Deputy Marshals coordinated with Sparks Regional Medical Center security to identify Henry before arresting him without incident, the release states.

Henry's aunt, Joyce Taylor, 77, was found dead Feb. 13 at her residence in Sweet Home by a deputy following up a missing-person's report, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.

Taylor's tan 1997 Mazda Protege, which went missing from her driveway Feb. 13, was recovered at a body shop in Fort Smith, Pulaski County sheriff’s office spokesman Capt. Carl Minden said in an email.

Henry was transported to the Sebastian County jail, where he is awaiting extradition to Pulaski County.
