UA business dean leaving for Texas

Eli Jones, dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, is leaving to take a job as dean of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M, according to a news release.

Jones has been dean since 2012. All three of his degrees are from Texas A&M.

"Sincerely, the great people here and the positive momentum of the Walton College and the entire region made my decision to leave this institution tough," Jones said in the news release. "However, I have the opportunity to go home and be physically closer to my family while working for my alma mater.”

Provost Sharon Graber will next identify an interim dean and appoint a search committee, the news release stated.
