NLR holding 1st interviews for library job

Interviews are ongoing with six candidates being considered to become executive director of the William F. Laman Public Library System in North Little Rock, according to a list provided by the city's Human Resources Department.

Three interviews were completed this week, with the other three candidates to be interviewed next week, said Betty Anderson, the city's Human Resources director. Two or three finalists will later be interviewed by the library's board of directors, which will make the hire, she added.

The six candidates are:

• Zoe Butler of Morrilton, public library consultant and coordinator for the Arkansas Center for the Book at the Arkansas State Library in Little Rock;

• Todd Humble of Colleyville, Texas, library services supervisor for North Richland Hills Public Library;

• Tina Murdock of Conway, regional library director for the Faulkner/Van Buren Regional Library;

• Erin Waller of Benton, director of the Saline County Library System;

• Regina Stipsky of Little Rock, librarian/director of the Pulaski Academy School Library System;

• Adam Webb of Hot Springs, adult and technical services librarian at the Garland County Library.

The Laman Library System's longtime executive director, Jeff Baskin, died in September after being diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer less than eight weeks earlier. Mary Furlough has been interim director since late summer.
