North Little Rock tops Bentonville for 7A title

KeVaughn Allen scored 28 points and North Little Rock defeated Bentonville 66-59 in the Class 7A state championship game Saturday in Hot Springs.

After trailing by four points entering the fourth quarter, the Charging Wildcats finished the game on a 13-4 run. North Little Rock (25-5) has won three consecutive championship games in the state's largest classification, although it forfeited last season's title after reporting it played an ineligible player.

K.J. Hill added 19 points and Adrian Moore had 10 points and 10 rebounds for North Little Rock.

Malik Monk scored a team-high 25 points for Bentonville (21-6). Ben Smith added 22 points for the Tigers after making four first half three-pointers.

North Little Rock led by as many as nine points in the first half, but Bentonville closed the half on a 16-5 run to take a 39-37 halftime lead. Each team led by as many as seven points after halftime.
