Brass Choir Concert

RUSSELLVILLE — Arkansas Tech University will celebrate a half-century tradition with a concert featuring current and former members of the University Brass Choir at 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 304 S. Commerce Ave. The ensemble is under the direction of Gary Barrow, UCA professor of music. The alumni of the University Brass Choir will be directed by guest conductors Robert Bright, who established the ensemble in the 1960s, and Andy Anders, who directed the brass choir from 1970-85. A pre-concert brunch will be held from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Chambers Cafeteria at Arkansas Tech. The public is invited to these events. Conway AARP Meeting

CONWAY — The Conway Chapter of AARP will meet for a Dutch-treat lunch at 11:30, followed by a program from noon to 1 p.m., in the large room at the Ola and John Hawks Senior Wellness act Activity Center, 705 E. Siebenmorgen Road. Walt Coleman will speak on his 26 years as an NFL football referee. Seniors 50 and older are invited to attend and encouraged to join the chapter by paying $5 in annual dues. Cantemos: Vocal Music of Latin America

CONWAY — The Hendrix Choir, the Women’s Choir and voice faculty will present Cantemos: Vocal Music of Latin America at 7:30 p.m. in Reves Recital Hall. Under the direction of Hendrix music professor Andrew Morgan, the Hendrix Choir will perform an evening of eclectic music from Argentina, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Venezuela, including Ariel Ramirez’s “Misa Criolla.” Also featured in the concert will be several Latin American songs performed by Hendrix voice-faculty members Kara Claybrook and Suzanne Loerch. Business Partnership Council Meeting

Home-Based Businesses Seminar

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present a seminar, Home-Based Businesses: Where to Start and What to Expect, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University. The session will help participants with business planning, ideas, requirements and more to get them headed in the right direction in starting a home business. The cost is $30 per person to attend. Pancake Supper

MORRILTON — The United Methodist Men of Morrilton will hold their 22nd annual pancake supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Morrilton First United Methodist Church. Donations will be accepted to eat pancakes and sausage. The Rev. Ed Warren said proceeds will benefit the Conway County Care Center, The Safe Place and the Conway County Library. St. Vincent Catfish Supper

ST. VINCENT — Knights of Columbus Council 10908 will hold its 22nd annual catfish supper from 5-8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in the St. Vincent community, nine miles north of Morrilton on Arkansas 95. The menu will also include fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw and dessert. The cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Children 4 and younger may eat free. Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Banquet

PERRYVILLE — The Perry County Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Perry County Fairgrounds Multipurpose Building, 124 Hickory St. The keynote speaker will be 2nd Congressional District U.S. Rep. French Hill of Little Rock. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for silent-auction bidding, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The event will also include a live auction, door prizes and entertainment. Tickets are $18 per person, $30 per couple or $250 for a table of eight. St. Joseph’s Day Dinner

CENTER RIDGE — The Spring St. Joseph’s Day Dinner will be held from 3:30-8 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in the Catholic Point community. “The Original” Homemade Italian Sausage and Spaghetti Supper is all you can eat, and the cost is $15 for adults and $6 for children. Kids younger than 3 may eat free. To-go plates will be available at 4 p.m. There will be a Kountry Store featuring homemade jams, jellies, breads and sauces, as well as homemade pasta. A Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Chocolate Roll Contest and Festival

MARSHALL — The fourth annual Marshall High School Chocolate Roll Contest and Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include chocolate-roll judging, a chocolate-roll-making workshop, a car show, arts and crafts, a student art show, entertainment and concessions. Activities will begin at 8 a.m. with the MHS Cross Country 5K Chocolate Roll Walk/Run. For a small entry fee, anyone can help judge the World’s Best Chocolate Rolls. Rotary Club Pork Butts Sale

HEBER SPRINGS — The Rotary Club of Heber Springs is taking orders for smoked pork butts. The cost is $40, with the meat weighing an average of 7 to 8 pounds. HEBER SPRINGS — The Friends of the Library Book Shop, 2255 Arkansas 25B N., is open from 3:30-7 p.m. Mondays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop offers a large selection of books at bargain prices. All proceeds from the shop benefit the libraries in Cleburne County.

Cherokee Bingo

CONWAY — Cherokee Bingo begins at 6:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Heltons Wrecker Service/U-Haul, 710 S. Harkrider St. All proceeds will go to the Helton-Osburn-Spencer Scholarship Fund at the University of Central Arkansas.

Friends of Thomas Team Meeting

CONWAY — Friends of Thomas Team members gather from 10 a.m. to noon the fourth Saturday of the month at the Faulkner County Library. The next meeting, sponsored by the Central Arkansas Model Railroad Club, will be March 28. Admission is free, and all families are welcome to attend and discover the tools of the trade and favored brands of trains, as well as gather tips for a home layout or be part of a club layout crew.
