Diversion on I-40 West set for wreck cleanup

Work needed after a tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 40 westbound in Monroe and Prairie counties will require a traffic diversion overnight Monday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Crews will repair a guardrail and remove the wrecked rig on I-40 at mile marker 207, west of Brinkley in Monroe County, requiring the diversion of all westbound traffic at mile marker 216 at Brinkley, highway officials said.

Drivers will be routed to U.S. 70 and will return to I-40 at mile marker 202 in Prairie County, the department said. The closure will run from 11 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday, weather permitting, officials said.
