HATTITUDE

Chapeaus make grand show at education backers' lunch

The right hat can be just the thing to add a little attitude to a person's demeanor. The hats worn by the women at the luncheon March 14 for the Little Rock branch of the National Association of University Women brought out a sense of regality with bejewelled toppers; whimsy with a feathered fascinator; and jauntiness by the angle of the brim.

The subject of the program at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church fellowship hall was "Strolling With Hattitude" by Linda Parker. The group also enjoyed music by Donna and Company. Tiffany Pettus served as master of ceremonies.

The mission of the women's group, said event co-chairman LaWanda Pendleton, is to promote and provide education for children and adults. The group partners with Rockefeller Elementary School and just received a grant for a new program at the school. The women also have a clothing project named H.U.G.S.
