WHAT: Suzie's Quinoa With Olive Oil

STATS: One cup contains 224 calories and 6 fat, 31 carbohydrate, 7 fiber and 8 protein grams (1.5 servings per pouch). We bought a box (four pouches) at Sam's Club, 900 S. Bowman Road, Little Rock.

THE SKINNY: Quinoa just got easier to prepare -- if it's still not that easy to pronounce ("KEEN-wah").

Not that it was so complicated to cook quinoa, the seeds of a South American plant that have gained popularity as a side dish and salad ingredient. (Directions: Rinse, boil). But Suzie's makes the process even simpler, cooking the nutty-tasting quinoa and packaging it in ready-to-microwave pouches. The only variety I saw/sampled was the gluten-free Olive Oil, but Suzie's makes others: Asian, Indian and Tex-Mex (available at goodgroceries.com).

I only have one complaint, and that's the portioning of the packages. Pouches contain 1.5 servings each, so it's not quite enough for two meals and too much for one.

Size matters, Suzie.
