The 5-2 program favorite is Ali’s Birthday, who is trained by Randy Morse and ridden by Calvin Borel. Ali’s Birthday has a second and third in two starts this meet, losing to Ride On Curlin by a head on opening day and finishing third to Captain Genius in an optional claimer Feb. 13. Other contenders include Bagg O’Day, 9-2, Ammaroo, 5-1, and Be a Hero, 5-1. Ammaroo and Be a Hero each have a victory over the track this meet.

FINAL FURLONG

Today’s weather forecast calls for 77 degrees and a 20 percent chance of rain, but if rain stays away Oaklawn could have its first fast dry track since March 7. Fourteen of the past 15 racing cards have been held on tracks listed as wet-fast, sloppy, muddy or good. Before March 7, there was a fast track on Feb. 20.
