1 arrested in NLR bank robbery

Officers on Wednesday arrested a man wanted in a North Little Rock bank robbery, police say.

Employees at the U.S. Bank at 3701 Camp Robinson Road told police a man identified as Wayde Stewart, 58, demanded money by passing a note to a teller about 12:26 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a North Little Rock Police Department report.

The teller gave Stewart an undisclosed amount of cash and officers found him shortly after the robbery at Edwards Cash Saver at 3801 Camp Robinson Road, the report states.

Police found a large amount of money as well as the note used during the robbery in Stewart's possession, according to the report.

Stewart admitted to his involvement in the robbery during an interview, police said.

He has been charged with robbery and theft of property and was transported to the Pulaski County jail, the report states.

Stewart was no longer listed on the Pulaski County jail inmate roster on Thursday afternoon.
