Brittney Dean and Taylor Easley had two hits each and combined to drive in three runs to lead the Lady War Eagles to the victory Wednesday morning in the Coach Beach (Fla.) Invitational. Easley went 2-for-2 with two walks, two doubles and an RBI, while Dean went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Freshman Sarah Pollock picked up the complete-game victory in the circle. She struck out eight and also drove in a run. The Lady War Eagles (5-3-2) scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to finish the tournament with a win. Easley and Dean had RBI-singles in the eighth. Dean scored on an error to snap an 8-8 tie. Easley went 2-for-5, drove in two runs and scored three, while Dean went 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Dasha Donahoe and Mika Polumbo added three hits each.

Michael King pitched five scoreless innings to lead Har-Ber past East Limeston, Ala., in a tournament at Gulf Shores, Ala. Har-Ber improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the tournament.

Har-Ber grabbed a 7-0 lead then held on after East Limestone scored five runs in the seventh inning. Kaleb Pianalto earned his first save for the Wildcats, who will play a 7A-West Conference doubleheader at Rogers Heritage on Tuesday. Reed Fell, Josh Stephens, Remington Self, and Devin Sok-Amnouay each contributed two hits in the win over East Limestone.

O’CONNOR, ARIZ. 11, BENTONVILLE 8

Bentonville scored five runs before an out was recorded, but that wasn’t enough as the Tigers dropped their second straight game at the Coach Bob Invitational in Arizona.

O’Connor scored in each of the five first innings, including three runs apiece in the second and fifth innings against Bentonville starter Carter Brown (1-1) and reliever Dalin Hearn. O’Connor had 11 hits and was helped by seven Bentonville errors.

Matt Bratspies belted a grand slam to help Bentonville (4-4) take its early 5-0 lead, while Gunner Barnes and Paul Rouse each had an RBI single. The Tigers threatened in the seventh when they loaded the bases before the game ended with a double play.

Brown lasted only two-plus innings on the mound, while Hearn and Jacob Williams pitched two innings apiece.

Bentonville will play its final game in Arizona at 12:30 p.m. today.
