People keep raising their expectations for Malik Monk, and the Bentonville junior just keeps surpassing them. The 6-4, do-everything guard who is considered among the top players in the nation is the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s All-Arkansas Preps boys player of the year after averaging 26.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while leading Bentonville to a runner-up finish in the Class 7A state tournament.

It’s Danberry … again

Conway’s Jordan Danberry has been named the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s All-Arkansas Preps girls player of the year for the second consecutive season after leading the Lady Wampus Cats to their second consecutive appearance in the Class 7A state championship game. The 5-8 senior guard, who has signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks, averaged 14.0 points, 4.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 steals a game this season.
