Christine Denise Bourns became the bride of Derek Jordan Ward at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Villa Marre. The Rev. Greg Kirksey of the Church at Rock Creek officiated.

Mary Lynn and Dr. Michael Bourns, 2801 N. University Ave., are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mary Lou and the late Jerrell Bourns and the late Marceline and Ralph Robinson, all of De Queen.

The groom is the son of Kim and Ricky Ward of Lewisville. He is the grandson of Patsy and the late Larry Colvin of Bradley, and Irene and Winfred Ward and the late Dorothy Ward, all of Lewisville.

Vows were exchanged on the lawn of the Villa Marre with Italian ruscus and wedding flowers decorating the railings. Music was by harpist Alisa Coffey.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a chiffon and Chantilly lace gown embellished with Venice lace appliques. The fitted strapless bodice had a sweetheart neckline and the trumpet skirt extended to a sweep train. She wore her sister's elbow-length ivory tulle veil and carried a clutch bouquet of pink and Merlot peonies, orange unique roses, seeded eucalyptus and yellow tulips.

Lindsay Bourns Coon of Little Rock served as her sister's matron of honor. She wore a blush pink knee-length sheath embellished with ostrich feathers and carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquet.

Flower girls and ring bearer were Lucy Claire and Sally Margaret Coon, nieces of the bride, and Sam Robinson Coon, nephew of the bride, all of Little Rock.

The groom's honor attendants were his brothers Dusty Ward of Prairie Grove and Josh Ward of Lewisville.

A reception, also at the Villa Marre, followed the ceremony. The buffet held a large arrangement of pink and yellow French tulips, pink and Merlot peonies, orange Unique roses and white Dutch stock. Guest tables were centered with glass cubes holding unstructured arrangements of peonies, roses, Dutch stock and eucalyptus. The bistro tables held vases with single stems of orange Unique roses and lily grass.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She is owner and designer of Robinson Lane Designs.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe and has a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed in sales at Conveyor Technology.

The couple will reside in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Mexico.
