**Things to like

***Plenty to like

****Confident choice

1 Purse $21,500, 6 furlongs, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, Arkansas-bred, claiming $10,000

**MISS ADDICATE has rallied in consecutive in-the-money finishes, and she is moving from an open into a restricted state-bred race. CINDY’S UPROAR showed speed when clearing her second condition back in January and showed versatility in a late-running third-place finish March 13. SHE’S RED HOT is dropping in price but moving up a claiming condition following a front-running victory, and she is improving and drew outside the opposing speed.

2 Purse $21,000, 1 1/16 miles, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, Arkansas-bred, maiden claiming $12,500 ****RED DEPUTY’S GIRL followed a photo-finish sprint defeat with a troubled third-place route finish, and she holds a clear speed advantage and is switching from an apprentice to a winning rider. MISS BELLAELLA circled rivals when rallying in a vastly improved second-place finish, and she will wear blinkers for the first time. STORMY TRAIL drew an improved post after finishing behind the top selections March 13, and continued improvement should put her on the board.

3 Purse $27,000, 6 furlongs, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, starter allowance

**WHAT LOLA WANTS has finished first or second in 16 of her past 17 races, and her tactical speed will have her in great position turning for home. SMARTY PARTY is winless in nine career races at Oaklawn, but she has been consistently competitive against slightly better at the meeting. SHE’SABREES has finished in front of and behind the top selection in 2015, and the 10-time winner is another consistent mare who loves to win races.

4 Purse $24,000, 1 1/16 miles, 4-year-olds and up, claiming $15,000

**CRYPTOLIGHT is taking a drop in class following a dull wet-track effort, but the old class horse typically runs a big race after a poor one, and in a field void of speed he may be able to steal off and upset. GENTLEMAN’S HONOR has good recent Beyer Speed Figures, and after clearly defeating conditioned-claimers he ran well in a fast starter allowance race. HEAVENVILLE has always preferred minor awards over victories, but the veteran has earned better than $450,000 and ships from Houston in top form.

5 Purse $30,000, 6 furlongs, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up who have never won three races, claiming $25,000

**PEACELUVNCUPCAKES was bet down to favoritism is her return from a fivemonth layoff and responded with a solid fourth-place finish, and she was claimed by a winning barn and should be fit and ready to show her best. MY SISTER’S SECRET is moving up a condition following a decisive six-length victory, and she possesses excellent early speed and may repeat. OUR LAUGHING LADY is taking a significant drop in class after a poor 2015 debut, but a return to her previous form will give her a good chance to win.

**MISSION CRITICAL was beaten one length in a fast-closing third-place finish, and he has posted two solid subsequent breezes and will race on bleeder medication Lasix for the first time. GOING FOR MILES has earned competitive Beyer Speed Figures while competing in stronger maiden races, and he will wear blinkers for the first time. LOCA’S HERMANO followed a third-place finish at Fair Grounds with a second-place finish in his Oaklawn debut, and he has early speed and a strong trainer-rider team.

7 Purse $66,000, 1 mile, 3-yearolds, maiden special weight.

***DR. SHIPLEY dropped back abruptly after early trouble and raced wide through the turn in a deceptively sharp fifth-place debut, and he is bred top and bottom to route. ALL ABOUT ASHLEY has set the pace in two second-place finishes at the meeting and is showing steady improvement and may get it done. LEITRIM has been consistently competitive in all three of his races, and the two-time beaten favorite should come rolling late.

***WEAST HILL has recorded two big works since a dominating career debut victory, and he is bred to be fast and may have a bright future. WE BE STORMIN defeated his elders when winning the Nodouble, and the winner of three consecutive possesses a powerful late punch. MEANBONE is back in with state breds after a second-place finish against open starter allowance rivals.

***HINDER raced in a pocket with little room for most of his second-place debut last summer at Indiana Downs, and he shows two sharp works and will race on Lasix for the first time. CHARIS lost too much ground on the turn in a clear second-place finish, and he received a confidence boost when the winner came back and won an allowance race Saturday. MESHELL crossed the wire one length behind the second selection in an encouraging career debut, and he has early speed and figures to be tough with “typical” second-out improvement.

Exotic wager possibilities

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette handicapper Rick Lee seeks out horses which make good “key” horses in multi-horse and/or multi-race wagers, commonly called exotic wagers.

The 50-cent Pick 3 starting in race two can probably be covered with two fillies, and the second leg may be a small field of six but no fewer than three can win. The wager wraps up in race four where a couple of long shots could turn the bet into a profitable endeavor. I haven’t recommended an exacta at the meeting, but the ninth race is an opportunity to put a non-favorite (Hinder) over Charis and Meshell.
