A 38-year-old Little Rock man found sleeping beside his 3-year-old son just feet from a busy intersection was arrested Monday.

Christopher Taylor faces charges of public intoxication and endangering the welfare of a minor.

The Pulaski County sheriff's office said deputies found Taylor sleeping against a utility box 2 to 3 feet from the intersection of Arch Street and Atwood Road. The toddler was reportedly next to him and other adults were in the area "to keep the toddler from running into traffic," according to a police report.

Authorities say a deputy had some difficulty rousing Taylor and when he did awaken, he had slurred speech and difficulty balancing and seemed confused.
