NAIROBI, Kenya — Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, during a tour of Africa on Friday with his daughter, called for equal opportunities for girls in education.
While intelligence is equally distributed across the world, opportunities are not, Clinton said while visiting Kenya with his daughter, Chelsea, on a nine-day tour of Clinton Foundation projects in Africa.
Chelsea said the world has made tremendous progress in getting girls into primary schools because there are now 96 girls for every 100 boys in primary school, but more needs to be done to help girls transition from primary school to secondary schools. Bill Clinton said people should avoid keeping girls out of secondary schools and restricting their opportunities.
The world works better when people work together, everyone has the same chances and no one stands in any other person's way, he said.
