LR lane closures set for weekend, next week

Construction and street improvements will require several lane closures over the weekend and through next week, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department announced Friday.

Crews will stripe and open the Interstate 630 westbound lanes of the new Shackleford Road overpass, requiring the inside lane from the Barrow Road exit to Shackleford Road to close, state Highway and Transportation Department spokesman Jeff Whatley said in a news release.

The closure will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, the release states.

Lanes will close for construction work at the Big Rock Interchange at I-430/I-630 from Monday through Friday, Whatley said.

Crews will lay asphalt on Shackleford Road, construct a median barrier wall and install a concrete cap and cover for a wall next week, the release states.

The northbound and southbound inside and outside lanes of Shackleford Road between Kanis Road and Markham Street will alternate closing between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day, Whatley said.

The northbound inside lane of I-430 from Markham Street to the pedestrian overpass will close each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the release states.

The eastbound inside lane of Financial Centre Parkway/I-630 will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, Whatley said.

Both eastbound lanes of Arkansas Highway 10/LaHarpe Boulevard between Chester Street and the intersection of Markham Street, President Clinton Avenue and Cumberland Street will close next week for renovation work at the Robinson Center Music Hall, the release states.

Lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
