Where I live: I live in Oak Forest on a tree-lined cul-de-sac that is often filled with kids riding bikes and playing ball. I can hear the crack of the bats and the cheers of the crowd that ride the wind from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s baseball field.

Occupation: I am a full-time dreamer and a full-time artist. I work part time for Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Methodist Family Health as an artist-in-residence.

My favorite space is: My studio. I have a magical studio where the outside world can disappear, my soul can grow and my heart can sing. I live in a small house and have made the living room into my studio. I have a comfy couch for me and my dogs to sit; it’s where I read and write poetry. There are piles of canvases, shelves full of paint and bookshelves filled with art and poetry books. There is a big picture window where I have cushions so my pets can nap in the sun. I join them from time to time. The room is overflowing with easels filled with paintings, but I always have room to dance. Most importantly, it is filled with creativity, peace, stillness when it is needed and lots of love.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: I would make my studio bigger so I could work on much larger canvases and have more space for more easels, paints, canvases, books and dancing. Lots and lots of dancing.
