Wolf Cemetery Decoration Day

OPPELO — The 16th annual Wolf Cemetery Decoration Day will be held today. A potluck lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. in the Riverview Baptist Christian School Cafeteria in Morrilton. Bring a favorite dish. Decoration Day ceremonies and a program will begin at 2 p.m. at the cemetery in Oppelo, weather permitting. Mike Atkinson, president of the Wolf Cemetery Association, will serve as master of ceremonies. Entertainment will be provided by Heaven’s Echoes. Participants are asked to bring lawn chairs and cameras. Those who know the identity of people buried in unmarked graves at t he cemetery are asked to provide the information so the graves can be marked. In case of rain, the program will be held at Riverview Baptist Church.

Maumelle Photo Club Meeting

MAUMELLE — The Maumelle Photo Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Maumelle Library. The theme for the two-case library display for May will be “Barns.” Discussion will include field trips, photo ops and members’ wants and needs. For the July/August issue of MauMag, Roger Frangieh plans to dedicate a page of photos to portraits and will accept submissions. Friends of the Faulkner County Libraries Meeting

CONWAY — Friends of the Faulkner County Libraries will its their annual meeting at 10:30 a.m. in Meeting Room 1 at the Faulkner County Library, 1900 Tyler St. The group has supported the Summer Music Series, The Urban Farm Project and landscaping at the library branches, book sales and many more activities at the library. All who are interested in the purposes of the library are eligible for membership upon payment of dues. The Friends, celebrating 80 years in Conway, will present awards to members recognizing areas of volunteerism and service, including Friend of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Library Board Member of the Year. CONWAY — The First Wednesday Ladies’ Lunch Break will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at Dave Ward Drive and Farris Road. Enter the church from Farris Road. Small-Business Forum: Ask the Experts

CLARKSVILLE — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present Small-Business Forum: Ask the Experts from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at University of the Ozarks. An attorney, a certified public accountant, a marketing specialist, a business consultant and a lender will discuss topics concerning small-business ownership, management and best practices. The event will include a light breakfast and an opportunity to ask the experts questions. There is no fee to attend. Concert at the Library

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Library will present concert violinist Oksana with Brian Hamby on piano and vocals at 2 p.m. Oksana, the owner and founder of Ovation Music Academy in Benton, not only plays classical music, but also Arkansas fiddle music, popular music and jazz. Hamby is a jazz and gospel pianist and Hammond B3 organist located in central Arkansas. All library events are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Benefit Banquet

CONWAY — The Conway-based Toad Suck Friends of NRA (National Rifle Association) will hold their ninth annual benefit banquet at 5:30 p.m. at the Howard Johnson Ballroom, 1090 Skyline Drive. There will be a catered meal, live and silent auctions, raffles and games, as well as fellowship and family fun. Proceeds will benefit the NRA Foundation, which provides funding to Arkansas youth and women’s shooting sports programs, range development and law enforcement. Second Saturday Bingo

Faulkner County Master Gardeners Plant Sale

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Master Gardeners will hold a plant sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Conway Expo Center, 2502 E. Oak St. Guest speakers will include Janet Carson, horticulture specialist with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, at 9:30 a.m., and Bob Byers, associate director of Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, at 11. Cherokee Bingo

CONWAY — Cherokee Bingo begins at 6:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Helton’s Wrecker Service/U-Haul, 710 S. Harkrider St. All proceeds go to the Helton-Osburn-Spencer Scholarship Fund at the University of Central Arkansas.
