A panhandler accused of wielding a knife was arrested Saturday morning outside a North Little Rock fast-food restaurant, police said.

Terry Bernard Traylor, 47, of 1719 S. State St. in Little Rock was arrested at 9:50 a.m. Saturday at the McDonald's at 600 E. Broadway and charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, according to an arrest report.

Police were called to the restaurant for a report of a man panhandling along North Locust Street with a knife in his hand, the report said. Responding officers observed a "very large knife" in the man's hand.

The man walked across three lanes of traffic at the Interstate 30 offramp at North Locust Street and refused to put the knife down when commanded, police reported. Traffic stopped, and people inside McDonald's stopped and watched.

The man, later identified as Traylor, finally complied and was arrested, police said.

The knife was approximately 12 inches long with brass knuckles for a hilt, police reported.

Traylor was no longer listed on the Pulaski County jail roster Saturday night.
