LITTLE ROCK MUSEUM, ART & HERITAGE TRAIL
Location: Begin at the police kiosk at 421 President Clinton Ave. and head south on River Market Avenue.

Length: This 1.75-mile city hike travels along mainly sidewalks south to MacArthur Park, then back north to the River Market.
Main attractions: You'll need to download the detailed map and legend at littlerock.org (do a site search for "heritage"). The hike passes 36 historic museums, pieces of public art and notable Little Rock heritage locations. Make a day of it by visiting the museums.
Hazards: There are 23 street crossings. Watch for traffic.
Dog, bike, tyke friendly? Too many intersections for bicycles and the smaller fry, but Fido (on a leash) will enjoy the many fire hydrants. Take a plastic bag.
