Little Rock man shot during auto shop argument

A Little Rock man was shot Friday afternoon by an automotive shop customer during an argument with the shop's owner over an unsatisfactory paint job, police say.

Gary Graves, 52, went to TCC Auto at 8201 Stanton Road Friday afternoon and argued with owner Timothy Parker because his nephew's vehicle had not been painted with the correct paint color, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Parker told officers the fight started because the nephew, Raydrick Watts, 19, didn't want to pay for the paint job.

A witness told police that a man approached Graves during the argument and those two got into a fight before the man shot Graves about 4:12 p.m., the report states. Graves ran to a house in the 4700 block of Stratton Road where he called police and said he had been shot by a man with a revolver.

Watts left the shop before Graves was shot because Parker "acted like he had a weapon," the report states.

Parker told police he didn't know the customer who was at the shop for vehicle repairs, according to the report.

Police are searching for the shooter who is described as a 5-foot-8 black man weighing 220 pounds. He is between 30 and 35 years-old and was last seen wearing a red doo-rag on his head and a white shirt.
