A parolee accused of fatally shooting a man during a robbery at the victim's Little Rock home has been ordered held without bail.

Bobby Campbell, 35, made an initial appearance by video in Little Rock District Court on Monday after his arrest a day earlier on charges of capital murder, aggravated robbery and two counts of first-degree battery. A preliminary innocent plea was also entered.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Degen Clow told special judge JaNann Davis that Campbell is accused with another man of entering 1704 S. Fillmore St. in Little Rock and then shooting a woman in the arm after demanding to know where the home's safe was.

Clow said the woman fell to the floor and acted as though she was dead while the intruders questioned her boyfriend, 27-year-old Gabriel Carter, about the location of a safe. One of the men then shot Carter, who suffered fatal injuries, authorities said.

Clow said the woman, who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, picked Campbell out of a photo lineup as the man who shot her.

Campbell is also charged in a separate shooting that occurred after the homicide. Clow said he is suspected in that case of shooting a body-shop worker in the shoulder during a dispute over work done on Campbell's nephew's car.

Campbell spoke only briefly during the several-minute hearing, though he frequently shook his head as the judge and attorneys spoke. At one point, he questioned the judge, who referred him to his public defender, about "what day was that supposed to have happened, the murder?" The attorney told him it was April 29.

Davis ultimately opted to keep Campbell in the Pulaski County jail without bail.

The hearing came a day after police arrested Campbell at a Little Rock hotel.
