A routine bridge inspection will require lane closures on U.S. 64/Midland Boulevard between Fort Smith and Van Buren starting Thursday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said Monday.
Crews inspecting the U.S. 64 bridge over the Arkansas River will first close the bridge’s eastbound, outside lane and then its westbound, outside lane, highway officials said.
The lane closures will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through May 11, weather permitting, the department said.
Traffic will be controlled using cones and warning signs.
