Woman arrested in LR mall robbery

Little Rock police Tuesday arrested a second suspect in a Sunday attempted robbery at Park Plaza Mall and a holdup outside the Breckenridge movie theater.

April George, 30, has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of theft of property, one count of robbery, first-degree criminal mischief and possessing instruments of crime, Little Rock Police Department Lt. Sidney Allen said in an email.

George was arrested about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, after officers responded to a residential alarm at 1300 Jones St. When police arrived, two officers checked the perimeter of the house in the backyard while two other officers walked to the south side of the home. Officers saw George inside having sex with Aaron Dillard, 33, in a bedroom, a Little Rock Police Department report states.

Officers told the two to come to the front of the house, where they searched them and found a crack pipe in George’s bra, according to the report.

Officers found a "foot mark indention" that had done about $1,000 in damage to the front door, the report states.

Dillard was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.

George was questioned after her arrest and admitted to police that she was involved in Sunday’s attempted robbery and holdup with Brian Hughes, 40, police said. The Little Rock Police Department said Hughes and an unidentified woman had attempted to rob a woman outside the Park Plaza Mall about 12:40 p.m. Sunday, but the victim resisted and held on to her possessions, ArkansasOnline previously reported.

"These same suspects then went to the Breckenridge area and successfully robbed two people" at gunpoint, Allen said Monday. Hughes was charged Monday in that robbery.

George is being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $1,500 bond on a failure-to-appear charge; and her bail is not yet set on the new charges.
