'American Pickers' to film in northeast Arkansas next month

American Pickers, a History Channel documentary series, is set to film in Randolph County starting next month, the county's Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday.

Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, the team of "modern-day archaeologists" on the show, travel the country searching for people with valuable antiques in storage they can "pick" through, the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce said on its website. When the pair finds antiques they are looking for, they attempt to make a deal with the resident to purchase the items.

Wolfe and Fritz are currently searching for Randolph County residents who have antique items, including vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, vintage musical equipment, vintage automotive items, early firefighting equipment, vintage clothing and pre-1950s Western wear, the website states.

American Pickers is not looking for farming and agriculture items, tools, glassware, appliances, tractors, crocks, stoves or country primitives.

Those who would like to be considered to appear on the show or to nominate someone should submit a name, phone number and address, along with a description of antique items with photos, to americanpickers@cineflix.com, or call (855) 653-7878.

The Chamber of Commerce said filming will start next month and new episodes will appear on the History Channel at 8 p.m. Wednesdays.
