Police investigate robbery at LR hotel

Police were investigating after a woman was robbed at gunpoint outside a Little Rock hotel Monday morning.

Officers responded about 4 a.m. to Holiday Inn at 3201 Bankhead Drive, across Interstate 440 from Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport/Adams Field. Lisa Herlich, 49, of Hot Springs Village said two armed men had approached her from behind in the parking lot, according to a police report.

"I will shoot you," one of the men said, according to the report. "Give me your money."

Herlich said she gave the robbers her cellphone and five rings, including her wedding ring. The men fled south.

No injuries were reported.

Police searched the area but made no arrests.

The suspects are both described as black, 5-foot-7, about 155 pounds, and between the ages of 20 and 30.

Lost in LR, couple robbed at gunpoint

A west Little Rock couple were robbed at gunpoint after getting lost in central Little Rock on Monday night, police reported.

Karim and Sapna Varani told police that they pulled over about 10:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of West 18th Street because they couldn't find Interstate 630, according to a police report. A man with a gun soon approached and forced them out of the vehicle.

Sapna Varani, 22, said the man punched her in the stomach and took a gold chain, the report states. Karim Varani, 28, said the robber took his wallet and about $250 in cash.

The robber fled on foot.

Police searched the area but made no arrests.

The suspect is described as black, 6-foot-2 and 150 pounds with braided hair. He wore a black shirt and bluejeans.
