Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park kicks off its 11th season with Divergent (PG-13), June 3 at the First Security Amphitheater, Julius Breckling Riverfront Park, off President Clinton Avenue in Little Rock's River Market District. Sponsor is the Central Arkansas Library System.

Time of Fear

The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock, will screen Time of Fear, a documentary about the thousands of Japanese Americans interned at two southeast Arkansas camps during World War II and the reactions of the native Arkansans, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The screening is part of the museum's "Movies at MacArthur" series and marks Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The museum recommends the movie for viewers 12 and older. Admission, popcorn and refreshments are free. Call (501) 376-4602 or visit the website, arkmilitaryheritage.com.

Artist INC

The Argenta Arts Foundation will host the Artist INC program, a training program that addresses the specific business needs for artists of all disciplines, for the third year, Sept. 14-Nov. 2, at its Art Connection space, 204 E. Fourth St., in North Little Rock's Argenta Arts District.

In the eight-week session, the 25 participants will gather once a week to learn business skills specific to their practice. The program is open to any artist of any discipline; deadline to sign up is July 5.

Local artist facilitators include Kevin Kresse, Matt McLeod, Kristina Marinova, Dominique Simmons, Judy Goss and Kandy Jones.

The program is a partnership with the Arkansas Arts Council, Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City, Charlotte Street Foundation, the University of Missouri Kansas City Innovation Center and the Mid-America Arts Alliance.
