Train car disconnects in West Memphis

WEST MEMPHIS — A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway spokesman said there were no injuries when a car disconnected from a train near Memphis.

Spokesman Joe Faust said the car rolled free from the train in a private company's industrial yard early Wednesday morning in West Memphis. He said it's unclear what the train was carrying but there were no reports of a hazardous material spill.

Faust said the malfunction has blocked the railway's ability to service the company.

It's unclear what caused the accident.
