Greenbrier man held on 21 rape counts

A Greenbrier man has been arrested on 21 counts of rape and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault over reports of his sexually abusing three minors, the Lonoke County sheriff’s office said Friday.

Jarrod Felkins, 21, is being held in the Lonoke County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond on the counts after a Thursday arraignment, sheriff’s office Lt. Matt Edwards said in a statement.

Sheriff’s deputies received a report from the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline on April 20 that Felkins had sexually abused a 12-year-old, Edwards said. During the ensuing investigation, he was also accused of abusing a 14-year-old and a 7-year-old, deputies said.

Felkins also has a pending rape charge in Prairie County, authorities said.

Rape is a Class Y felony, punishable by a term of 10 to 40 years or life imprisonment, and fourth-degree sexual assault is a Class D felony, punishable by up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
