THURSDAY’S SEC TOURNAMENT ROUNDUPS

TEXAS A&M 6, VANDERBILT 1

HOOVER, Ala. — Blake Allemand hit two home runs and Matt Kent threw a complete game to lead Texas A&M over Vanderbilt.

Allemand hit a two-run home run in the second inning and a solo shot in the fourth inning to help the Aggies (46-10) build an early 6-0 lead. The left-handed Kent (7-1) did the rest, holding the Commodores (40-18) down to one run on four hits.

Texas A&M won’t play again until Saturday, while Vanderbilt will face Alabama today in an elimination game. Dansby Swanson hit his 12th home run of the year in the fourth inning that accounted for the Commodores’ only run. Vanderbilt’s Carson Fulmer (11-2) took the loss, giving up six runs over five innings. He allowed three home runs.

FLORIDA 11, AUBURN 2

HOOVER, Ala. — Josh Tobias went 4 for 5 with 2 RBI and Florida knocked Auburn out of the SEC Tournament. The Gators (41-16) scored 8 runs on 7 hits in the third inning, 4 of them unearned.

Peter Alonso was 3 for 3 and drove in three runs while Mike Rivera had a two-run double in the big inning against the Tigers (35-24).

Florida starter Logan Shore (7-6) allowed 2 runs in 7 2/3 innings, striking out 7 without a walk.

Daniel Robert had two hits for Auburn, which went 1-2 in the tournament and gave up 20 runs in the two losses.

Florida had 15 hits against four Auburn pitchers. Richie Martin had a two hits and scored two runs.

ALABAMA 4, MISSOURI 3

HOOVER, Ala. — Will Haynie’s leadoff home run in the bottom of the seventh inning helped Alabama beat Missouri 4-3 in an elimination game.

The Crimson Tide (32-28) also got a two-run, two-out single from Cody Henry in the sixth to rally from a 3-1 deficit. Thomas Burrows retired the side in the ninth for his seventh save, getting two strikeouts.

Missouri (30-28) had moved ahead on Brett Peel’s two-run double in the fifth. Taylor Guilbeau (3-6) got the victory after allowing three runs in six innings. Tanner Houck (8-5) went the distance for Missouri, allowing six hits while striking out eight.

Mikey White started Alabama’s rally by drawing a two-out walk. Casey Hughston then singled and Kyle Overstreet reached on a fielder’s choice before Henry drove in the tying runs.

Hughston was 2 for -4 with a double and RBI. Missouri’s Trey Harris also had two hits and an RBI.
