Burnt pillows close Cabot Wal-Mart

The Wal-Mart Supercenter in Cabot was shut down Sunday after a small fire started in one of the aisles, a Cabot Fire Department spokesman said.

Firefighters responded about 4 p.m. to Wal-Mart, 304 S. Rockwood Drive, where some pillows had caught fire. Store employees had mostly extinguished the flames by the time crews arrived, said department spokesman Capt. Dwayne Boswell.

Customers were evacuated from the store, which will remain closed until sometime today.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Boswell said. Investigators were following several leads Sunday night.

Firefighters worked until about 7 p.m. to ventilate the store. Boswell said the Arkansas Department of Health would inspect the store to determine whether any food had been affected by "smoke particles."

The fire did not cause significant damage, Boswell said.
