Jonesboro police release name of man shot in home invasion

JONESBORO — Jonesboro police have released the name of a man who was fatally shot in an area home.

Officers on Monday found 28-year-old Nelson McCullough lying on the floor in the front room of a Jonesboro home.

Witnesses who were inside the house at the time of the shooting told officers two men entered the home, shot McCullough and fled in a gray car.

McCullough was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they don't believe the shooting to be connected to three others over the Memorial Day weekend, which they say is an abnormal amount of violence over such a short period.
