Jacksonville judge to waive court fees

The Jacksonville District Court will suspend a court fee for people wanted on certain misdemeanor charges if they appear before a judge June 12.

The city reported that those wanted on charges of failure to appear and failure to pay will have a $260 court fee waived if they turn themselves in at Judge Robert Batton's courtroom between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The court is at 1412 W. Main St.

Batton will recall arrest warrants for those who show up.

Fines related to the charges still must be paid. If the fines cannot be paid in full that day, a monthly payment plan will be established, according to the city.
