William Zachary Brewer is being held in the Crittenden County jail in Marion on a $250,000 bond set by West Memphis District Court Judge Fred Thorne.

Capt. Joe Baker, commander of the West Memphis Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division, said police were called to a motel on West Service Road at 6:50 p.m. Sunday after motel workers found a dead man in a room.

Police did not release the victim's name, pending notification of relatives, Baker said in a news release.

Authorities sent the man's body to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy, Baker said.

It is the third homicide in West Memphis this year, he said.
