1 COSTUMES

Geek out in style at the CALS-Con, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Central Arkansas Library System's Main Library, 100 Rock St., Little Rock. The party celebrates the worlds of superheroes, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, comics and gaming with panels, a scavenger hunt, displays and a costume contest. 2 'CRY (NO MORE)'

3 COUNTRY

Summer is about to start and Magic Springs, 1701 E. Grand Ave., Hot Springs, is launching its annual summer concert series this weekend. First up is country singer Randy Houser at 8 p.m. Saturday in the park's Timberwood Amphitheater. The Luke Williams Band opens the show at 7 p.m. Saturday admission to the park is $59.99, $36.99 for ages 55 and older and children under 4 feet tall. 4 COLLABORATION

The Wildflowers -- Amy Garland, Bonnie Montgomery and Mandy McBryde -- present an evening of folk, country, rock and blues as part of the Arkansas Sounds Concert Series, 7 p.m. Friday at the Central Arkansas Library System's Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock. 5 CABERNET

More than 150 wines from around the world and food from top area restaurants and provender providers will make for quite a spread as Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Road, Little Rock, hosts its 17th annual Wine & Food Festival, 6:30 p.m. Friday. Craig Wilson and the Dizzy 7 will provide musical entertainment; patrons can create souvenir works of art, inspired by Jackson Pollock and Giuseppe Arcimboldo, in a do-it-yourself art studio. 6 COURSE

If 5Ks are just not enough, there's always the Easter Seals Rock Run 8K, 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The USA Track & Field-certified course starts at Murray Park on Rebsamen Road. 7 CAVORT

FreeVerse will headline Legends in Argenta, a fundraiser for September's third annual Legends of Arkansas, 5-11 p.m. Saturday at the Plaza, 520 Main St., in North Little Rock's Argenta Arts District. Also on the bill: performances by Runaway Planet and the Beckham Brothers Band, cirque acts via ReCreation Studios & Cirque Arts and magic/storytelling/mind reading Paul Prater. Food trucks (the Waffle Wagon and Agrilla the Bun) and Diamond Bear Brewing Co. and Moody Brews will supply food and drink; area arts/crafts vendors will also set up shop. 8 'CUE

The central Arkansas chapter of the Arkansas Hospitality Association is hosting the fourth annual Pig Party on the River, 5 p.m. today at the Downtown Riverside RV Park, 50 Riverfront Drive, North Little Rock. The event will include a hog roast, a Baggo tournament (with cash prizes) and music. Admission is $10; there's also a $10 Baggo entry fee. Call (501) 376-2323.

9 CUT-PRICE

Five central Arkansas attractions will partner with Hiland Dairy to offer special discounts to families during Family Fun Days, Saturday-Sunday. At the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum and the USS Razorback submarine, 120 Riverfront Park Drive, North Little Rock, admission will be $5 for adults, $4 for kids. Families get $2 off admission to the Little Rock Zoo, 1 Zoo Drive. Magic Springs, 1701 E. Grand Ave. (U.S. 70), Hot Springs, is taking $10 off each ticket for a family of four. Attendees at Arkansas Travelers games at Dickey-Stephens Park, 400 W. Broadway, North Little Rock, can take 10 percent off anything in the gift shop. And at Wild River Country, 6820 Crystal Hill Road, North Little Rock, a ticket for a family of four is $80. Hiland ice cream treats will be two for $1 at all locations and the dairy is running a "post your selfie with Hiland products" promotion (hilanddairy.com/summerfun). 10 CONCERTS

The Hot Springs Music Festival kicks off its 20th season at 6:45 p.m. Sunday with the traditional fanfare on the terrace of the Arlington Hotel, 239 Central Ave., Hot Springs, followed at 7:30 by a performance by the Cavell Trio ( Shelly Myers, oboe; Osiris J. Molina, clarinet; and Jenny Mann, bassoon) in the Arlington Ballroom. Tickets are $15.
