WYNNE -- A rowboat containing four people sank in the St. Francis river near Wiseferry, seven miles east of Wynne, this morning, and the wife and 10-year-old daughter of P.H. Taylor, justice of the peace and farmer, were drowned. John Short, who was rowing the boat, managed to save himself and a young son of Mr. Taylor, only after Mrs. Short, who was on the river bank, had thrown him a pole. Short had exhausted all his strength in an effort to save the women.
