Little Rock police are investigating two calls of disturbances with a weapon that ended in a shooting in the 4300 block of Pine Cone Drive on Thursday.

Authorities were called shortly before 10:40 a.m. to 4316 Pine Cone Drive, which is south of Baseline Road and west of Scott Hamilton Drive.

A man wielding a weapon, whose identity has not been released, got into an argument with a woman at the address before walking over to a second residence in the neighborhood, Little Rock police spokesman Michelle Hill said.

A homeowner at 4309 Pine Cone Drive shot the man outside, believed by police to be in his 30s, after he walked onto the resident's property holding a concrete block, Hill said.

The man was transported to a Little Rock hospital for a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen, according to authorities. No one else was injured in the shooting.

Police said the man was possibly under the influence of narcotics when he caused a disturbance at the two houses in the neighborhood.

An investigator at the scene said the man does not have a home address in the area.

Hill said the man is expected to be charged with aggravated assault once he is released from the hospital. More charges could be filed in the case, according to authorities.

A report is expected Friday with more information regarding the disturbances and shooting, Hill said.
