MAKER'S BALL

Technology is put to the test by guests in their eerie best

Bloody footprints led to the front door and fog crept through the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub in North Little Rock on Oct. 30 as costumed creators arrived for the inaugural Maker Ball.

The creatively costumed guests had the chance in the weeks before to use the hub's resources, including laser cutting, welding and 3-D printing, to make costumes, which included steampunk outfits, monsters, and movie and anime characters.

Guests enjoyed an evening of drinks, food and music while old black-and-white horror movies flashed on the back wall.

Money raised supports the Innovation Hub's effort to increase innovative and entrepreneurial activity and provide education and support to develop, attract and retain talent in Arkansas and help build the state's economy.
