Hendrix' Winn honored

Hendrix junior running back Dayton Winn was named to the D3Football.com's national team of the week Tuesday.

Winn, of Pea Ridge, rushed for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns on 28 carries and caught 5 passes for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns in Saturday's 54-51 victory against Washington University of St. Louis. He has rushed for 1,532 yards this season, which is a Southern Athletic Association record.

The Warriors play at Sewanee on Saturday.

Harding men's coach resigns

Odie Guzman resigned Tuesday as head coach of Harding's men's program.

Guzman was 18-40-10 in four seasons as the Bisons coach, including 4-12-2 this season. He played soccer at Harding in 2005-2008.

Harding hands Arkansas Tech first GAC loss

Zoe Hardin had 15 kills and nine blocks as Harding (15-14, 9-6 Great American Conference) beat Arkansas Tech (24-6, 14-1) 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 28-26 on Tuesday night in Searcy.

It was the Golden Suns' first loss in GAC play this season after winning their first 14 conference matches.

Anna Leigh Cargile had 19 digs and Abigail Glosup finished with 54 assists for the Bisons.

Hunter Eshnaur recorded 15 digs and Madison Nagel had 21 digs for Arkansas Tech.

UAM beats Henderson State

Carolina Gasparini finished with 15 kills and 18 digs in Arkansas-Monticello's 25-13, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14 victory over Henderson State in Arkadelphia.

Aubrey Harrison had 10 kills for the Cotton Blossoms (11-17, 2-13 Great American Conference).

The Reddies (4-24, 2-13) were led by Jessie Jacoby with 20 kills.

Arkansas Tech senior earns award

Arkansas Tech senior middle blocker Katie Huff was named the Great American Conference's offensive player of the week Tuesday.

Huff led the Golden Suns to two victories last week. She averaged 3.7 kills per set in victories against Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas.

3 Philander Smith players named to GCAC team

Philander Smith had three players selected to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference's second team Tuesday.

Senior outside hitters Samantha Moore and Zyra Wright and sophomore right side hitter Autumn Trimble were second-team selections for the Lady Panthers. Wright is a three-time GCAC selection, while Moore and Trimble are first-time selections.

Philander Smith sophomore Victoria Hicks was named honorable mention.
