Worker accused of helping two steal gas station's cash deposits

A worker at a Jacksonville Shell gas station was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft after she helped her boyfriend and another man steal money the station manager was carrying, police said.

According to a Jacksonville Police Department arrest report, Brenisha Nelson, 27, is suspected of tipping off robbers to when her manager at the Shell station on Marshall Road would be leaving with the store's cash deposits.

Kendrick Womack, 22, and Jamian Williams, 25, were also arrested Tuesday and charged with felony theft and fleeing police, according to police records.

According to Nelson's arrest report, Womack grabbed the money bag from the manager and fled in a car driven by Williams, who police identified as Nelson's boyfriend.

Police said Nelson was arrested after she was brought in for questioning and told police she told the pair when the manager would be leaving with the bank deposit. Police said texts on Nelson's phone backed up her statement.

Both Womack and Williams remained in the the Pulaski County jail Wednesday morning.
