The evening's special four-legged guests strolled in like rock stars on the red carpet Nov. 7 at Viva Reigning Cats and Dogs. The four furry shelter dogs arrived by limo for the fundraiser at Next Level Events.
The money raised from the 24th annual fundraiser goes to the Humane Society of Pulaski County.
The human honoree? Stephano Sutherlin, local artist and gallery owner, who arrived with his wife, Ashley, and their dog Diego.
The fundraiser had an Italian flair: Dogs sported Italian flag kerchiefs; a buffet of Italian bistro cuisine fed ticket holders; and more Italian flags hung around the room. There were also live and silent auctions and music by Top Shelf. A champagne reception and preview party for sponsors started the event.
The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue and find homes for abandoned, abused and unwanted animals; to investigate, prosecute and prevent animal abuse; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through spaying and neutering.
