A 2-year-old child died after being shot at an address on Nelson Court on Tuesday afternoon, Benton police said.
Police responded about 1:35 p.m. to the address, according to a statement.
The child was transported to a Benton hospital before being transported to a hospital in Little Rock, where the child was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
An investigation is ongoing into the child's death, and more information regarding the case will be released as it becomes available, according to the statement. No charges have been filed in the case as of Tuesday evening.
