Arkansan accused at N.J. airport of concealing knife in underwear

A Maumelle man was arrested Monday at Newark Liberty International Airport after trying to smuggle a knife past a security checkpoint, airport officials reported.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said in a news release that Sean Marcus Curry, 29, was found with a small folding knife during a pat-down search. Curry said he would go back and store the knife with his checked luggage, according to the agency.

Curry returned to security checkpoint, and police reportedly found the knife hidden in his underwear during another pat-down search.

Curry was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

The Port Authority said he has a court appearance set for Dec. 1.
