The brother of a man killed in a shooting late Wednesday in Van Buren is being held on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with his slaying, police said.
Michael Lee Roberts, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting that occurred about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at 412 N. 24th St., according to Van Buren police spokesman Jonathan Wear.
Michael's brother, 56-year-old Curtis Don Roberts, was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the altercation, police said, adding that Curtis was later interviewed and booked at the Crawford County jail without bond.
Wear said the two brothers lived together and had a physical altercation before the shooting.
An investigation is ongoing into the shooting, police said.
