Jet maker adds $60M hangar to Little Rock facility

Dassault Falcon Jet has added 350,000 square feet to its Little Rock production facility, designed to accommodate the jet maker's new flagship aircraft, the company said Thursday.

The expansion includes a new $60 million, 250,000-square-foot hangar that can hold the new flagship Falcon 8x ultra long-range trijet as well as the Falcon 5x aircraft.

The Little Rock facility of the French-based Dassault Aviation is a completion center for the company's Falcon line of business jets, which are built in France. The expansion also included upgrades to the facility's upholstery, cabinet and headliner shops.

The expansion increases the facility's total footprint by about a quarter, to 1.25 million square feet, according to the company.

According to a news release sent out by the company, the Little Rock facility employs 1,850 people. The release did not announce any new hires.
