It's a musical battle royale as the American Cancer Society and Ben E. Keith Co. present the ACS Lip Sync Battle, 6-10 p.m. Saturday at the Argenta Community Theater, 405 Main St., North Little Rock. The competition, inspired by the segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, will feature performances by local TV and radio personalities, former Razorbacks and other community members teaming up to "sing" their hearts out to popular songs. String quartet Brooklyn Rider -- Johnny Gandelsman and Colin Jacobsen, violins; Nicholas Cords, viola; and Eric Jacobsen, cello -- bridges the antique and the avant-garde in a concert at 7:30 p.m. today at Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Road, Little Rock. It's a partnership between Wildwood and the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock. The program includes Franz Schubert's String Quartet No. 13, "Rosamunde" and 21st-century poetry-, literature-, art- and music-inspired music from the quartet's latest album, Almanac. Also at Wildwood this weekend, soprano, Little Rock native and University of Central Arkansas alumna Kristin Lewis takes a weekend off from the international opera circuit to headline a gala benefit for her year-old scholarship fund for emerging Arkansas vocalists, 4 p.m. Sunday. Lewis will sing arias and choruses from Giuseppe Verdi's La Forza del Destino, Un Ballo in Maschera, Nabucco and Il Trovatore; she and bass-baritone Kevin Short will divide up a suite from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, with pianist Louis Menendez. And they, 2015 scholarship winner Anna Berry and members of performing arts group Praeclara will perform the second act of Giacomo Puccini's La Boheme. Tickets are $50, $15 for students, $100 for premium tickets (which include VIP seating, VIP parking and a post-concert reception). The event will open with "Girls' Nite Out," 6-9 p.m. today, with general shopping 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Garvan Woodland Gardens, 550 Arkridge Road, Hot Springs, will glow with 4 million lights over 17 acres during its annual Holiday Lights display.
